Saving the Civil Service Act
Among NARFE’s top priorities are supporting the Saving the Civil Service Act, which would preserve merit-based civil service protections, and the Equal COLA Act, which would provide Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) retirees with the same full cost-of-living adjustments that CSRS retirees and Social Security beneficiaries receive. NARFE is also working to protect earned federal retirement and health benefits, oppose proposals that would reduce retirement security, support competitive federal pay, and strengthen the Office of Personnel Management’s retirement services operations.
In addition, NARFE is monitoring issues affecting FEHB and PSHB programs, postal service funding, workforce reductions, government reorganization efforts, and policies that impact current federal employees and future retirees. Members are encouraged to participate in NARFE’s Legislative Action Center and grassroots advocacy efforts to ensure the voices of the federal community are heard in Congress.
