2025 Alheimer’s and Hospice Activities

Donations checks provided to:

                           At the January 2026 meeting, Chapter President Joe Moffatt presented $1,300 to

                           St. Mary’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for use in their Alzheimer’s Unit.

 

                             He also presented a check for $3,300 to Hospice of St. Mary’s.

 

                             In February 2026, a donation check was mailed to the Maryland Federation of NARFE

                             in the amount of $2,000 for Alzheimer’s Research. (Picture not available)

 

Winners of the Raffle:

 

The Quilt Raffle has ended and the winners were drawn at the Chapter’s October Luncheon.  We were able to raise over $6,600 for the benefit of the Alzheimer’s and Hospice Funds.  All proceeds will be donated at the January, 2026 Chapter meeting and at the February, 2026 MD Federation meeting.  Pictures will be posted of these donations.  The Quilt, table runner and pot holders were all handmade and donated by Sherry Quade a member of our Chapter.  What a generous gift to benefit these worthy charities.

First place, Kevin Mattingly chose the gift basket with many items including $100 in scratch off lottery tickets and a hand crafted nautical table runner. (Picture not available)

Second place, Teresa Baker, First VP from NARFE Maryland Federation won the nautical quilt.

Third place, Shirley Curtis won a gift basket of goodies including nautical pot holders and Alzheimer’s postage stamps.
