How do I become a member of NARFE Chapter 0439?

To become a member of NARFE Chapter 0439, you may fill out the attached New Member Application and mail it to NARFE (address is provided on the application), come to one of our Chapter meetings, call NARFE at 1-800-456-8410, or enroll online by clicking the below link.

 

How much does it cost to become a member of NARFE?

First year annual dues are just $48. However, if you sign up for Dues Withholding, you save $6 a year, for an annual cost of just $42. After the first year of membership, Chapter Dues of $8 a year will be added to membership cost.

Where and when does NARFE Chapter 0439 meet?

NARFE Chapter 0439 meets in the community room of the Amherst Library at Audobon, located at 350 John James Audobon Parkway, Amherst, NY. We generally meet at 11:00 am on the third Monday of the month during March, April, May, September, October, and November. See the Meetings tab for information on the next meeting.

What is Dues Withholding and how do I sign up for it?

Dues Withholding (DW) is a dues-payment method available to retired NARFE members, their spouses and annuitant survivors giving them the option to have their NARFE membership dues deducted from their federal annuities each month. The advantages are a savings on your annual NARFE dues, your monthly payment is affordable and convenient, and you may cancel DW at any time.

During 2024, if you sign up for Dues Withholding, you will receive a check for $25 as a thank you for electing to have DW. Contact us for more information.

How do I reach the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)?

How do I reach Thrift Savings Plan (TSP)?

You may contact TSP by calling 1-877-968-3778 or visit www.tsp.gov

How do I contact Federal Group Life Insurance (FEGLI)?

You may call the office of FEGLI at 1-800-633-4542.

If a Federal retiree or eligible family member has died, contact OPM at 1-888-767-6738 and OPM will provide the appropriate claim forms and information about any FEGLI coverage.

If a Federal employee has died, or when an eligible member of a federal employee’s family has died, please contact the employee’s Federal agency to learn whether they had coverage under the FEGLI program. The agency maintains the FEGLI records of its employees.
