About Us
MIAMI VALLEY CHAPTER 1927 MISSION STATEMENT
The Miami Valley Chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE Chapter 1927) complements the purposes of its Ohio State Federation and National Organization. It does this by providing opportunities for members to interact with each other at monthly Chapter or Board meetings, by informing members of financial and benefit information of interest and by keeping members aware of local advocacy efforts to protect their earned federal benefits. An up-to-date Chapter website and recurring newsletters along with Chapter meetings serve to address these objectives. As Dayton’s oldest active Chapter, the Miami Valley Chapter is a local resource which promotes the National Organization’s goals of (a) supporting legislation beneficial to current and retired federal employees and opposing legislation contrary to that purpose (b) promoting and advising members of their rights and benefits under applicable laws and regulations and (c) cooperating with other organizations in furtherance of these general objectives.
Local chapters enhance your membership by providing local contacts to help you with your questions and concerns about federal pay and benefits. Each chapter designates service officers to assist members with their benefit questions. Each chapter holds regular chapter meetings to discuss local issues and concerns and invite experts to speak on a variety of subjects. NARFE chapters also advocate with our federal and state elected officials. For example, the legislative leaders of the Dayton area chapters meet regularly with Congressman Turner and his staff. Attend a local chapter meeting and discover for yourself the value of chapter membership. The cost of membership is low. National membership is only $48 a year. A small price to pay to protect your hard earned benefits. Chapter dues for Dayton area chapters range from $6.00 to $10.00 a year. To find a local chapter near you, click here or call 800-456-8410, ext. 204. Chapter dues don’t kick in until the 2nd year of membership.
