About Us

Chapter 1734 was organized in 1980 to offer a local connection to NARFE for members in the Howard County, MD region. We provide timely information to NARFE members about benefits and opportunities for advocacy at the state and national level. We also host a variety of speakers and activities.

NARFE PAC Chair – Vacant

• • Educate chapter members on the importance of NARFE-PAC, the Association’s political action committee.
  • Encourage and solicit members’ contributions.
  • Assist Federation NARFE-PAC Coordinators in providing state recommendations for contributing NARFE-PAC funds to candidates in their respective district; and,
  • Share NARFE-PAC contribution and disbursement information with chapter members.

Program Chair – Vacant

• • Provide suggestions and arrange for a speaker or program for chapter meetings. Such as: an elected official or candidate; a medical or health practitioner or other professional to discuss issues of interest to members; a local historian; or other entertainment.

Service Chair – Vacant

• • Assist members by providing information and guidance in navigating issues relating to federal pay and benefits, (Service Officer Guide, FH-10, is available from NARFE).
  • Assist members to prepare documents associated with the above topics. Provide the F-100, Be Prepared for Life’s Events, to assist members in managing their affairs; and
  • Keep up to date by reading benefits-related articles in NARFE Magazine & NARFE Insider.
