NARFE Referendum Election Coming
The NEB passed Motion #17-11-25 in closed sessions on December 18, 2025, to fund $40,000 for a 2026 – Special Referendum to extend the terms of office for current and future national officers. The current term limits are two years for national president, secretary-treasurer and ten regional vice presidents, with term limits of two terms for the president and three terms for the other officers. The proposed change is to elect national and regional officers for three years/term, with two-year term limits. A proviso is added that current officers about to be “termed-out” can extend their term for an extra three years. Members are urged to vote when the ballots are emailed on 1/26/26. Those without an email on record may contact NARFE HQ to request a paper ballot.
