OPM’s hiring plan includes ‘blatant loyalty test

The Government Executive published another article by Erich Wagner titled: “Lynch: OPM’s hiring plan includes ‘blatant loyalty test”.  This is again about the OPM new “Hiring Plan” released last week. “Such a loyalty test is antithetical to the concept of an expert, nonpartisan civil service and will only serve to degrade and politicize the services Americans need from their government,” wrote Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-Mass., the panel’s acting ranking Democrat on the House Oversight and Reform Committee.”

Lynch blasted the new essay questions which are part of the Hiring Plan as an effort to politicize the federal workforce.  The administration has reinstated and renamed Schedule F, an initiative to strip tens of thousands of career employees in “policy-related” positions of their civil service protections and replace them with political appointees.
