Emerging Threats to the Federal Community
Our Custer Chapter has prepared the following information:
The following is a link to a NARFE Issue Brief titled “Threats to Federal Employee and Retiree Earned Benefits“. It is in response to proposals being discussed by both the Trump Administration and the new Congress to reduce employee and retiree benefits. If you, your family, or your friends are affected by this, it is time to let your Congressional representatives know how you feel. Hopefully enough members of Congress will push back to stop some of this wrongheaded legislation and hurtful action. But concerned citizens always make a difference, especially in the current political climate.
You can always check narfe.org, then “Advocacy” for information. There are also formatted letters there you can use on some topics. For this current issue you can contact the following and express your concerns:

As you know, NARFE is a non-partisan organization and the major advocate for federal employees and has the ear of many influential groups and members of Congress. Membership plays a significant role in its effectiveness. If you have friends or family who are not members and are eligible, now might be the right time to encourage them to join and help amplify our voices. The best and most efficient way to join is on narfe.org. Ask them to include your membership number and chapter number which will benefit both your chapter (strength in numbers) and you (a cash reward from NARFE!).
