2024 Alzheimer & Hospice Activities

The Chapter’s members raised almost $5,000 selling quilt raffle tickets and cake sale tickets for Alzheimer’s and Hospice charities.  Below are the recipients.

At the March meeting, the Chapter’s President Joe Moffatt gave out $2,500 to Chloe Tuner and Ashlyn Harding from the Hospice of St. Mary’s and $1,000 to Sharon Nicholson from the St. Mary’s Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for Alzheimer’s patients.

On Febuary 4, 2025 at the Maryland Federation Board Meeting, $1,500 was given to the Maryland Federation for Alzheimer’s research by the President of Chapter 0969.

Winners of the Raffle:

The Quilt Raffle has ended and the winners were drawn at the Chapter’s October Luncheon.  We were able to raise over $4,000 for the benefit of the Alzheimer’s and Hospice Funds.  All proceeds will be donated at the first of the year.  More pictures will follow.  The Quilt, table runner and pot holders were all handmade and donated by Sherry Quade a member of our Chapter.  What a generous gift to benefit these worthy charities.

First place, Jackie and Harry Childers.  They chose the gift basket with many items including a hand crafted table runner.

Second place was Sue Scheible who won the quilt.

Third place was Betsy Spitler who won a gift basket with lots of goodies including Alzheimer’s stamps.
