Bylaws Amendment – Article V, Section 2, Second Paragraph, eliminate the words “They shall be elected for a one-year term…”

If Adopted: Each Area Vice President shall serve in their designated Area under the guidance of the Board. The Area Vice Presidents shall act as liaisons for field operations, represent the Federation in promoting the objective of the Association, assist Chapter Presidents and other chapter officers in carrying out the duties, and promote legislative activities at all levels of the Federation. The Area Vice Presidents shall be elected to two-year terms by members of their respective Areas at the annual meeting or separately and will serve until a successor is installed. Proviso: The current Area Vice Presidents elected in 2025 will remain in office for an additional one-year term, ending in 2027.

The reason to adopt the change is to rectify an oversight. ARTICLE V, Section 2, first paragraph, was amended in 2025 to allow the President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer to be elected to two-year terms rather than the previous one-year term. A corresponding change was not made for the Area Vice Presidents.
