OPM Plan to Access to Medical Records Gets Pushback
Article by the FEDweek Staff, April 15, 2026. The issue is that OPM has requested that insurance companies provide it with personal information about Federal Employees’ and Retirees’ medical records.
“The AFGE union and the NARFE organization have opened the opposition to the Trump administration plan to gain access to detailed medical records on those covered by the FEHB/PSHB programs, saying OPM has not justified a need for information on an individual’s treatments.”
This is an issue all Federal Employees and Retirees should learn more about before all their medical records are provided to OPM.
