You can use the Illinois State Board of Elections website to Find My Elected Officials. Zoom in on the map and use your cursor to mark your neighborhood. A pop-up box shows the address you selected. On the right side, both your federal and state elected officials are listed.

– Click REPRESENTATIVES in the horizontal menu.
– In the Directory, on the State and District tab, click “I” for the Illinois delegation OR
– If you know your representative’s name, click on the Last Name tab, then the first letter of their last name.

The Executive Branch includes the six elected officers and their offices, as well as other departments.
The Judicial Branch is composed of the Circuit Courts, the Appellate Courts, the Illinois Supreme Court and related agencies.
The Legislative Branch of the state is the Illinois General Assembly. It has two chambers: House of Representatives and Senate.
Tribal Government
There is one federally recognized tribal nation in Illinois – the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. They purchased 128 acres to create the Shab-eh-nay Reservation within the boundaries of their ancestral home in DeKalb County. On the reservation, the tribal government has jurisdiction over law enforcement for Indians, business regulation, “environmental and natural resources management, hunting and fishing, education and social welfare”.
