Possible Government Shutdown
Once again, the U.S. Government is facing a possible shutdown if Congress does not pass a Continuing Resolution by Sep. 30, 2025 to keep it operating. The House of Representatives approved a CR by a 217-212 vote. However, it failed in the Senate 44-48, with some Senators having left town early for their one week recess. Read the details in NARFE’s article, Shutdown Looms, NARFE Urges Good Faith Bipartisan Negotiations and the letter NARFE emailed to Senators urging them “to negotiate in good faith towards a bipartisan agreement” for a CR.
