March 15 SF Protest
Steve Walter, CA Federation Congressional District Liaison (CDL) and John Almquist, Regional Vice President are planning a protest about the chaotic cutbacks of the Federal agencies and its impact on Federal workers. We’ll have union representation there as well.
The march will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 15 at the old Federal Building (450 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco).
We’re still working out the details but I wanted to give you a heads up. We’ll have a flyer and will post on FEDHub. I’ll need you to publicize it to your chapter members so they can participate, if they wish.
Join with Bay Area NARFE members at 11AM March 15 at the “old” San Francisco Federal Building to show the world your concern for Federal employees and your support for the work we/they do in Federal agencies serving the interests of the American public.
Get your Clipper Card ready and ride BART to the Civic Center Station. Then walk 0.3 miles to the “old” Federal Building at 450 Golden Gate Ave. I plan to catch the 9:43AM “Daly City” train from Fremont that arrives at Civic Center at 10:33. (Same train leaves Union City at 9:47, South Hayward at 9:52, and Hayward at 9:56). There’s plenty of free parking available at the Fremont BART Station on Saturdays, which is also probably true at other stations.
If you opt to drive instead of BART, there is a parking garage under Civic Center Plaza (and street parking).
When I receive more details about this event, I will forward them to you. You can also check posts in the California Federation Community at FedHub.narfe.org for the anticipated update and flyer mentioned below.
Bring others with you. If you bring a sign, you get extra points.
If you let me know you’re coming I will be on the lookout for you.
Andrea Heckman, 2nd VP
