Q. How much does it cost to join NARFE?
A. NARFE National membership dues are $48 per year. Dues for Annandale VA Chapter 1159 are $8 per year and are waived for the first year for new members. Join NARFE online or call NARFE at 1-800-456-8410 (press 1).
Q. Why should I join NARFE and our Chapter?
A. NARFE is the only organization advocating for Federal employees, both active and retired. NARFE ensures that you always are up to date with current changes in your retirement, pension and health insurance coverage. NARFE members have access to many resources, including our award-winning magazine, live and recorded webinars on retirement and benefits, and even an online community (FedHub).
You can be a National-only member, but you’d miss out on the benefits of chapter membership. NARFE chapters provide an opportunity for Feds and former Feds to support each other, learn new things, and have fun together. We’d love to see you at a chapter meeting soon!
Q. Who can Join NARFE?
A. Membership is open to civilians in any agency of the federal or the District of Columbia governments who contribute(d) to a federal retirement plan, either the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) or Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). This includes current employees, former employees, retirees, spouses, surviving spouses of those eligible to join NARFE, and former spouses who are legally eligible for a survivor annuity. You don’t have to be retired to join NARFE. One out of every five new members is an active federal employee.
