Grassroots Advocacy Month

Congressional legislators have returned to their home districts and states during the August Recess. This is a time when they visit with their local constituents about important issues. Consequently, NARFE labels August as Grassroots Advocacy Month, which is a time for NARFE members to tell their personal stories to their representative and senators. For many of us, our personal story has focused on public service to the American public. Our legislative priorities are continued protection of earned retirement and health benefits of federal employees and retirees. In the coming months, NARFE will ask our Congressional legislators to:

• Defend Americans’ Privacy!
• Stand Up for Public Servants, Rule of Law!
• Cosponsor the Saving the Civil Service Act, H.R. 492/ S. 134
• Cosponsor the Equal COLA Act, H.R. 491/ S. 624
• Cosponsor the Fair Act, H.R. 943/ S. 126
