Configuration Advisory Board (CAB)

Welcome to the NARFE Configuration Advisory Board (CAB) microsite! CAB is made up of 10 members, one from each region, who represent chapters and federations. Contact CAB to voice your opinions, document complaints or offer suggestions for improving online data services.

CAB Meeting Summaries – NARFE CAB Calendar

CAB meets on the second Monday of the month. We discuss member suggestions and complaints and attempt to resolve issues as soon as possible. Meeting Summaries, updated monthly, are available for members online.

CAB Requests for Changes

When suggestions are submitted on the Contact CAB page, a CAB Request is created.  These requests are discussed by CAB and a Request Index, updated monthly, is maintained on the Important Links page.  This EXCEL spreadsheet hyperlinks to the source document and the recommendations reached by CAB.

CAB Issues – Backlog Reports

Complaints or “bugs” reported on the Contact CAB page are tracked by CAB using Backlog. Issues, assigned to staff, are categorized, dated, and tracked until they fixed or a case file is created with Protech (AMS) or Higher Logic (FEDHub). The Issues Index, updated monthly, is posted on Important Links.

CAB Tasks

Tasks assigned to CAB participants during monthly meetings are tracked for follow-up. Meeting Summaries list these tasks, and a Task Index,  tracking task completions in Excel format, is available on the Important Links page.

CAB Projects

CAB members conduct research, investigate topics, explore ideas – whatever it takes to help NARFE members engage with technology.
