The Washington State Federation (WSF) is affiliated with the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Association, a nonprofit organization that provides leadership in advocating for the interests of current and retired federal employees.  WSF is one of five state federations (Oregon, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho) in NARFE Region IX

The state federation, comprised of 11 chapters and national-only members living within the state borders, provides support and assistance to both active and retired federal employees, whether NARFE members or not, in Washington State and coordinates with strategic partners in accomplishing its work. The federation is governed by an executive board composed of an elected president,  vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and three district vice-presidents along with the support of an advisory board composed of appointed members who serve as committee chairs or coordinators. Both boards, act as the WSF Advisory Committee, meeting quarterly to conduct federation business.

Bylaws revision

The Federation Executive Committee reviewed and endorsed the proposed changes to the Federation Bylaws on 23 April 2024. No additional suggestions were received from federation members by any of the Executive Committee officers. The document will be formatted, signed, and sent to NARFE HQ for approval or further revisions before the end of April. The proposed final document will be posted on the website pending approval.
