{"id":1848,"date":"2026-01-12T13:13:58","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T18:13:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.narfe.org\/va\/?p=1848"},"modified":"2026-01-18T13:19:30","modified_gmt":"2026-01-18T18:19:30","slug":"narfe-referendum-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.narfe.org\/va\/2026\/01\/12\/narfe-referendum-election\/","title":{"rendered":"NARFE Referendum Election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Executive Board (NEB) passed<strong>\u00a0Motion #17-11-25<\/strong>\u00a0in closed session on November 20, 2025 to fund $40,000 for a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.narfe.org\/2026-referendum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>2026 \u2013 Special\u00a0 Referendum<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to extend the terms of office for current and future NEB members. The current bylaws specify that Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs), National Secretary\/Treasurer, and National President terms are\u00a0<strong>two years<\/strong>, limited to\u00a0<strong>two<\/strong>\u00a0consecutive terms for the National President and\u00a0<strong>three<\/strong>\u00a0consecutive terms for the RVPs and National Secretary\/Treasurer.<\/p>\n<p>This referendum would change the bylaws so that both National officers and the RVPs (the NEB) would all serve<strong>\u00a0three year terms<\/strong>, limited to\u00a0<strong>two consecutive terms<\/strong>.
