PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Date Posted:  17 Sept 2020

This issue of the Chimes will be late for September but hopefully we’ll be back on track and on time for the October issue.

The elections for our NARFE National officers has been successfully completed with President Ken Thomas and Secretary-Treasurer Kathryn Hensley retaining their positions.  Our Region VII V.P. Rodney Adelman is still with us (he was unopposed) and doing an excellent job of representing us on the Nat’l Executive Board.

Due to the pesky Corona virus and the usual summer hiatus, our chapters have not been meeting,  and the officers have been keeping in touch via e-mail and phone, with the hope that the virus will be contained and a vaccine will be available by the end of the year.

Our Chimes editor, Isabel Sullivan, is having a very difficult time getting the Chimes together due to failing eyesight. Therefore, it’s imperative that she get some help – a second pair of eyes – so those of you who have some extra time and would be willing to spend some extra time with her so she could explain what is needed and ultimately assume the position of editor, please give her a call (801)6858822, and be ready to give her some much needed assistance.  If the membership truly enjoys the Chimes and would like to see it continue, this must be done.   Otherwise, the alternative is using the website only for news and comments.

Please continue to observe the proven protective measures for safety (social distancing, face covering, and frequent handwashing, and being careful in crowds.
