Hurricane Harvey Help

My heart goes out to all the Texans who have suffered a loss from Hurricane Harvey.  It’s great to see so many organizations stepping forward to help people, and NARFE is there to help, too.

NARFE partners with the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund (FEEA) to provide emergency grants and loans to federal employees and NARFE members affected by a declared national disaster through the NARFE-FEEA Disaster Fund.  Details are available here

Members with email received several helpful messages from NARFE.  I won’t repeat them here.

NARFE is here if you want help, or want to help.

Need help?

NARFE members in good standing may apply for disaster funds in the form of cash grants (up to $500 per household).  If you’ve been injured, incurred property damage (primary residence) or have other needs during and after a declared natural disaster, find the most up-to-date grant application at

FEEA now uses one unified application for all disaster grants, so please be sure to check the NARFE box on the application.  If you have questions, send an email to or call 202-554-0007 for further information. For details on whether your location qualifies for hurricane Harvey in Texas go to

Want to help?

Please make a tax-deductible donation to the NARFE FEEA Disaster Fund.  Visit

There are many other ways to help.  Consider your local food bank, the Salvation Army, the Red Cross and other groups such as churches, service organizations like Lions Clubs, etc.

If you are a chapter leader, please consider taking up a collection for Hurricane Harvey relief at your next chapter meeting.

Some Texas Chapters are spearheading specific relief efforts.  If your chapter is involved, let me know and we can put the details on our page.
