It’s amazing, isn’t it, how grass grows back.
Seems like the more often you cut, the more often you have to cut.
Curious.

Enough random contemplating (babbling) for now. NARFE’s fall
membership drive has started. Have you given any thought to
how you can recruit a new member? Have you ever thought that,
if each member recruited
just one new member (anytime of year), our membership would
double? We’re at some 129,000 members who are all making an
impact, but imagine if that number were 258,000? NARFE’s
impact would be all the stronger! By the way, if you recruit
someone during this fall drive, you as the recruiter can receive ten
bucks from NARFE. Recruit 10 members and that’s 100
smackaroos! I’d love to hear of someone who actually recruited 10
members. Wouldn’t you?

The NARFE National Executive Board (NEB) has just recently
approved an additional $100,000 for federations to use, primarily
in membership activities? If your federation (or even chapters)
needs some cash to help recruitment and/or retention, you can go to
NARFE HQ membership department and seek matching funds.
Call now while supplies last!

The Region X Conference is October 21-23 in Pigeon Forge, TN.
Have you ever been to the mountains in the fall? The mountain
views are majestic, what with the fall foliage in full color! Pigeon
Forge is smack dab in the middle of all that and I can’t think of a
better place to be than at the Region X Conference. I honestly
think this year’s conference will be one of, if not, the best Region X
Conference ever. The setting, the agenda (I’m still working on that,
but it looks to be glorious), and especially our attendees will make
it so! I’m excited and I hope you are, too!

One final babble (I promise). If you aren’t engaged, you aren’t
informed! Attend a chapter meeting. Log on to the NARFE
website and learn all about our advocacy regime.
