{"id":1813,"date":"2025-08-29T07:00:53","date_gmt":"2025-08-29T11:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.narfe.org\/region10\/?p=1813"},"modified":"2025-08-29T07:00:53","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T11:00:53","slug":"eo-collective-bargaining","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.narfe.org\/region10\/2025\/08\/29\/eo-collective-bargaining\/","title":{"rendered":"Orders to Eliminate More Agencies Collective Bargaining Agreements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A handful more agencies are now under orders from the White House to terminate their collective bargaining agreements with federal unions.<\/p>\n<p>In an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/08\/further-exclusions-from-the-federal-labor-management-relations-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">executive order<\/a>\u00a0signed Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump added more agencies and a few agency components to an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/federalnewsnetwork.com\/unions\/2025\/03\/trumps-order-to-end-collective-bargaining-for-national-security-reasons-impacts-most-agencies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">already extensive list<\/a>\u00a0of federal entities slated for collective bargaining cancellations. Trump said the terminations of labor contracts are intended \u201cto enhance the national security of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/03\/exclusions-from-federal-labor-management-relations-programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">initial executive order<\/a>\u00a0from March 27 invoked a narrow, rarely used portion of the 1978 Civil Service Reform Act that allows a president to suspend collective bargaining for national security purposes.
