1099-R Available From OPM

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) web address allows members to request their 1099-R tax form for 2025. As retirees of the Federal Government, we report annually the income received from our annuity checks. 2026 marks the first year that OPM will not automatically mail 1099’s to annuitants, but forms are available via email or mail.

Referendum Vote Ends February 24

NARFE Referendum Election ballots are available online until 2/24/26. Members can share opinions, offer recommendations, and discuss concerns in the 2025 NARFE Bylaw Proposal Community of FEDHub. VOTE!

Referendum to Extend Officer Terms

The NEB passed Motion #17-11-25 in closed sessions on December 18, 2025 to fund $40,000 for a special referendum to extend the terms of office for current and future national officers. Ballots will be emailed on January 26, 2026.

Whistleblowers Under Attack

FEMA requires whistleblowers to publicly identify themselves or face termination, reports Bloomberg. This requirement appears to violate the Whistleblower Protection Act, which “gives federal employees the legal right to voice opinions on matters of public concern, including potential dangers to public health and safety, without adverse impacts on their jobs.”
