President Biden signed HR 82 into law. The windfall elimination provision was signed into law on Sunday, January 5, 2025. This affects WEP and the government Offset. The law repeals Social Security’s windfall elimination provision (WEP) and government pension offset. The Social Security Fairness Act Info was posted January 11th. Many Federal Retirees, spouses, etc. are concerned about how and what to do to ensure they will now obtain the funds they should be getting. What do they need to do themselves to ensure this? Thank your legislators for supporting this bill to all of you who have repeatedly engaged with our elected officials to finally bring this act to a successful vote with the President signing it. This has been a NARFE priority since the beginning of WEP and GPO, and all the hard work and persistence have finally paid off.
