NARFE President Issues Statement In Remembrance of September 11th.

September 11, 2017

On the 16th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, NARFE President Richard G. Thissen issued the following statement:

“We remember – and will never forget – the terrible acts of cowardice and terrorism that were committed 16 years ago today. We remember the precious lives that were lost – nearly 3,000 innocent people, each of them unique individuals – including many civilian federal workers at the Pentagon, at the World Trade Centers and on the airplanes – whose families, friends and communities continue to bear the burden of the tragedy. Yet, we also remember the selflessness, love and bravery that was displayed that day, by first responders, doctors and nurses, everyday citizens and more. From that day on, we have shown continued resilience, as those who serve our country have worked tirelessly on rescue and recovery efforts, and to keep our country safe. Many – in uniform and out – put their lives on the line to do so. We faced devastation and chaos, and showed that in the worst of times, we will respond with our best.”
