NARFE Celebrates Public Service Recognition Week 2019
“This week, NARFE embarks on a special mission – recognizing the invaluable service of federal employees during Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW). While NARFE works every day to raise awareness about the value of public servants and the profession of civil service, this annual commemoration allows us to amplify our voice as an organization and as passionate advocates across the country. I encourage you to join us in thanking federal employees for their tireless service to the greater good and, most importantly, the American people.”

-NARFE National President Ken Thomas

About Public Service Recognition Week
Every year PSRW honors the invaluable role public servants play in our everyday lives. This year, PSRW takes place May 5-11, 2019. The celebration started a little early, however, when NARFE staff and members participated in the Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund (FEEA) Run/Walk on April 28, 2019, to raise money for education, disaster relief and other assistance programs for federal employees in need.

How You Can Celebrate
Over the next few days, NARFE members across the country will be recognizing civil servants through community events, local and state government proclamations, and other unique activities that express appreciation for the work they do to protect and provide critical assistance to the American people. For other ideas on how you can get involved, please visit the PSRW webpage.

Again this year, NARFE is coordinating its popular nationwide Letter to the Editor campaign where members can submit customized letters to the editors of their local news outlets and publications via NARFE’s website. Don’t pass up this opportunity to spread the word about public service. Whatever activity you choose, we encourage you to share your thoughts and experiences on social media by using the hashtags #ThankaFed and #PSRW.
