NARFE NY Federation Annual Conference<\/span><\/h2>\n

On Wednesday, May 6, 2026<\/strong> we held our Annual NY Federation Conference in Albany, NY.<\/p>\n

This was a statewide conference that provided valuable training and information for both active and retired federal employees who are members of NARFE. If you are not already a NARFE member, join<\/a><\/strong> today!<\/p>\n

At the conference, we learned about the latest emerging threats to the federal community, reductions in force, proposed cuts to earned federal benefits, and the information and resources NARFE provides to help us make informed decisions. We connected with other feds, refined our skills and knowledge, and became inspired by innovative concepts that will help us network and grow as individuals and grow our membership.<\/p>\n

We heard from federal benefits experts, leadership from NARFE National Headquarters, a congressman, and others \u2013 all discussing issues affecting our federal community. This conference provided all officers and members, both National-only and Chapter members, with updated information and the current state of Congress regarding our earned benefits. During this event, we held our NY Federation Annual Meeting and Election of Officers to the Board of the NY Federation.<\/p>\n

The conference and accommodations were in a new location this year:<\/strong><\/em> the elegant Crowne Plaza Albany \u2013 The Desmond Hotel, 660 Albany Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12211. There is on-site parking, an indoor pool, fitness center, and restaurant and lounge.<\/p>\n

The conference was held from 9 am to 4 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Registration began at 8:00 am. Refreshments were served during a break at 10:00 am and lunch was served at noon, both paid for by the NY Federation.<\/p>\n

The Federation was responsible for a one-night stay at the hotel for those traveling more than 60 miles each way to the meeting.<\/p>\n
