NARFE has ten regions covering state federations and their chapters in the U.S., U.S. territories, and other countries.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to learn more about NARFE, here is a short video of the history for you:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lpW80Z5axgs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>NARFE \u2013 100 Years of Service<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What do Local Chapters offer?\u00a0<\/strong> It is at the Chapter level that you can become involved in the affairs of your local federal community. Chapters provide critical grassroots support for NARFE\u2019s national legislative agenda. Local chapters hold meetings, present guest speakers talking on a variety of issues, and provide an opportunity to meet and engage with other federal employees and retirees in your community. Membership in a Chapter is optional. To locate a Chapter in New York State, click <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.narfe.org\/ny\/chapters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does membership in NARFE NY mean to you?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Your NARFE membership amplifies your influence on Capitol Hill as NARFE fights to protect your pay, benefits, job security, and rights as a federal employee. We work to protect the earned benefits of federal annuitants and their survivors. By joining NARFE, you have access to professional learning and development opportunities as well as expert guidance on benefits, financial planning, and policy changes affecting your career and retirement benefits. Through membership in NARFE you connect with a network of federal peers and potential mentors through local chapter activities, FEDHub online community, grassroots activism, and special NARFE events.<\/p>\n<p>Membership in NARFE means that you can run for and hold office at the National and State levels. Membership means that you also have an opportunity to serve as a Congressional District Advocate (CDA) for your own Congressional District \u2013 a state federation level position that is designed specifically for politically active and motivated members who want to interact with members of Congress as a representative of NARFE. CDA\u2019s are federation positions, appointed by the Federation President of the state of your residence.
