Call Your Legislators!!

From the Facebook Federal Employee Government Shutdown Resource Group:
The Senate is scheduled for recess Nov 10–14. That means if nothing passes this week (Nov 3–7), the soonest a funding resolution could land is Nov 17.
But here’s the kicker: that CR would only fund the government through Nov 21. And guess what? Congress is in recess again the week after.
Unless the House is called back early — which looks unlikely, since House Republicans are the only ones not in DC — we’re staring down another shutdown cliff.
Yes, special sessions can happen during recess. But in this case? Politically awkward. Optics matter. And the Senate alone can’t pass a CR.
And here’s the part no one’s talking about: If the government isn’t reopened by the New Year, many federal workers could get hit with a higher tax bracket next year — because back pay lump sums inflate taxable income. Punished for Congress’s failure.
