Call for Proposals for Changes to NARFE Advocacy Positions
NARFE publishes a list of Advocacy Positions for each session of the United States Congress. The current list for the 119th Session of Congress 2025-2026 may be found at: Advocacy-Positions-2025-26-sts.pdf. This list guides NARFE’s leadership and staff regarding whether to support a position—or not–when actions are taken by Congress or the administration.
Currently NARFE is calling for members, Chapters and Federations to review the current list of positions and propose changes to incorporate in an updated list of advocacy positions for the upcoming 120th Session of Congress 2027-2028. Proposals for change are due to NARFE Headquarters by June 1. However, if chapters wish to obtain their Federation’s endorsement, like Missouri’s, proposals ought to be submitted to Federations by May 15.
NARFE’s process for submitting advocacy policy changes may be found at: NARFE’s Advocacy Positions for the 120th Congress Proposal Process – NARFE.
To see change proposals already being made, see FEDHUB: Advocacy Positions for the 120th Congress – FEDHub.
All NARFE members and Chapters are encouraged to consider submitting ideas for changes to NARFE Advocacy Positions. Our 1st VP, Craig Pettibone, was on the NARFE Committee that developed NARFE Advocacy Positions for the 119th Session of Congress 2025-2026 and he expects to continue that role for the 2027-2028. He would like to hear from any members and Chapters who might have ideas for either changes or new proposals that ought to be incorporated in NARFE’s Advocacy Positions for the 120th Session of Congress 2027-2028.
