NARFE opposes the NDA action because federal employees are already subject to laws and regulations governing the protection of classified, confidential, and other restricted information. Members should also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.narfe.org\/blog\/2026\/06\/08\/action-needed-submit-comment-in-opposition-to-required-federal-nda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>comment to OPM.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In his message he noted, \u201cA governmentwide NDA threatens to chill protected speech, including reporting corruption, waste, fraud, and abuse. The federal government operates on behalf of the American people, not private owners or shareholders. The public has a right to a degree of transparency into government operations and federal employees throughout the federal community should not be intimidated by the implicit threat of retaliation for legally and constitutionally-protected disclosures\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>According to his message, the notice asks for feedback.
