NARFE<\/strong> has ten regions, covering federations and their chapters in the U.S. and other countries. The Illinois Federation of Chapters<\/strong>, and the Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin Federations comprise Region 04<\/strong>. We represent our chapters, their members across Illinois (1,481) and National only members who live here (2,007). Our 3,488 members* are part of the Illinois Federal Family.<\/p>\n

Of the almost 135,000 persons in the Illinois Federal Family<\/a><\/strong>, 53% are annuitants (retirees), 26% are active employees and 21% are U.S. Postal Service employees. While advocating for our members\u2019 issues, we indirectly represent the concerns of all active and retired federal employees living or working in Illinois.<\/p>\n

We were chartered in 1957 with 11 chapters; we now have 17. See our Chapters<\/a><\/strong> page or the NARFE Find a Chapter<\/a><\/strong> tool to locate one near you. Our four districts<\/strong><\/a> are each led by a District Vice-President; they assist their chapters and represent them at federation board meetings.<\/p>\n

NARFE has an online, internal community, FEDHub<\/strong><\/a>, where members can discuss a variety of topics relevant to active employees, retirees and their spouses and\/or survivors. Our federation has a FEDHub community<\/strong><\/a> to discuss subjects pertinent to Illinois. Check out either or both to learn more about your federal benefits, get answers to your specific questions or help out your fellow members.<\/p>\n

Note<\/span>: NARFE does not require you to join a chapter to use your member benefits, such as our<\/span> magazine<\/a><\/strong> and<\/span> webinars<\/a><\/strong>. You would be a National only member and would be represented by the Illinois Federation. You would only pay National dues.<\/span><\/span><\/h6>\n
