Under the FEHBP is the newer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opm.gov\/healthcare-insurance\/pshb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB)<\/strong><\/a> that offers plans for Postal Service employees, retirees and families.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.LTCFeds.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP)\u00a0<\/b><\/a>is a voluntary program available to federal civilians, uniformed service members and qualified family members. It funds care needed if you can not do everyday tasks by yourself such as bathing, dressing and eating, that may last for the rest of your life.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cms.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)<\/b><\/a> provide health coverage to more than 100 million persons through Medicare, Medicaid, the Children\u2019s Health Insurance Program, and the Health Insurance Marketplace.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicaid.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Medicaid<\/b><\/a> is a joint federal and state program that provides health coverage for some people with limited income and resources. Medicaid offers benefits, like nursing home care, personal care services and assistance paying for Medicare premiums and other costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicare.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Medicare<\/b><\/a> is federal health insurance for anyone age 65 and older and some people under 65 with certain disabilities or health conditions. To estimate when you\u2019re eligible and your premium amount, visit their <strong style=\"font-size: 1rem\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicare.gov\/eligibilitypremiumcalc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eligibility and Premium Calculator<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">The\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.opm.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Office of Personnel Management (OPM)<\/b><\/a> \u201cserves as the chief human resources agency and personnel policy manager for the Federal Government\u201d. It oversees civil service hiring and the employment process, directs employee management services, manages healthcare and insurance programs and administers retirement benefits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ServicesOnline.opm.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>OPM Retirement Services Online<\/b><\/a> \u201clets annuitants (federal retirees or their spouses, ex-spouses, and children) manage their account online\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Social Security Administration<\/a><\/strong> (SSA) administers \u201cretirement, disability, survivor and family benefits and enrolls individuals in Medicare. We also provide Social Security Numbers, which are unique identifiers needed to work, handle financial transactions, and determine eligibility for certain government services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsp.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thrift Savings Plan (TSP)<\/a><\/b> is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsp.gov\/tsp-basics\/how-tsp-fits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>retirement plan<\/strong><\/a> for Federal employees and the uniformed services, including the Reserve and National Guard. The TSP offers savings and tax benefits similar to businesses\u2019 401(k) plans.
