NARFE Congratulates Projected President-elect Biden and Members of the 117th Congress

November 7, 2020

Alexandria, Va.—NARFE National President Ken Thomas issued the following statement regarding the 2020 presidential and congressional elections:

“NARFE congratulates the projected President-elect Joseph R. Biden and the newly elected and returning members of the 117th Congress following a significant campaign.

“As the nation prepares for a potential change of leadership in the White House, federal workers can take pride in their nonpartisan professional performance—before, during and after the election—whether delivering mail, securing America’s borders, caring for veterans or administering Social Security and other benefits. It is on behalf of these dedicated civil servants that NARFE will continue the important work of advising lawmakers and building consensus in Washington to push for action on policies affecting Feds.

“After a particularly contentious election campaign and record voter turnout, it is my sincere hope that Americans seek unity and mutual understanding in the days, months and years ahead. I have no doubt federal workers—Republicans, Democrats and independents among them —will lead the way. They will continue to uphold their oaths to support and defend the Constitution and serve the American people, as they have for every presidential administration.

“NARFE looks forward to partnering with the White House, representatives and senators to defend and advance the earned pay and benefits of America’s current and retired civil servants.”
