Q.\u00a0 \u00a0Why would I want to join a statewide chapter?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 This is the perfect chapter for current federal employees to join.\u00a0 There\u2019s no conflict with your work schedule and you don\u2019t have to drive to monthly meetings.\u00a0 This chapter does not hold monthly meetings.\u00a0 (Most chapters hold their meetings during the day when people are working.)<\/p>\n

For retirees, the statewide chapter offers you the benefits of staying informed on legislative issues that may impact your financial future.\u00a0 You also receive quarterly the Texas Federation Register \u2014 the federation newspaper.\u00a0 Monthly meetings are not an issue as you may attend the meeting of any chapter.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0 \u00a0Who may join the statewide chapter?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0<\/strong> Current federal employees,\u00a0 retirees, or their spouses from anywhere may join.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0 How do I join the statewide chapter?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0<\/strong> Just compete a NARFE Membership Application to join.\u00a0 Include your check for $48.00 (1st year\u2019s dues) and mail it to NARFE Member Services.\u00a0 Two other options are listed at the bottom left of the application.\u00a0 Be sure to complete the block for one-year free chapter membership and enter 2365 as your chapter.<\/p>\n

Q\u00a0 \u00a0How much are the dues?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.<\/strong>\u00a0 Dues are $48 for National and chapter dues are $6 after the first year free.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0\u00a0How can I pay automatically?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0<\/strong> Existing NARFE members who are annuitants, their spouses or their survivors should submit the Texas Federation TF-DW2 Dues Withholding Form for NARFE Members who are retirees, spouses of retirees or\u00a0annuitant survivors and mail it to the address on the form.\u00a0 For\u00a0 existing NARFE members, your annual dues are $42.00 (National) and $6.00 (Chapter 2365)\u00a0 which is $48\/12 or $4.00 a month.<\/p>\n

New members who are annuitants, their spouses or their survivors should submit the Texas Federation TF-DW3 Dues Withholding Form for New Members\u00a0 and mail it to the address on the form.\u00a0 For a new member\u2019s first year, the National dues are $48.00\/12 or $4.00\u00a0 a month and includes a one year free membership in Chapter 2365.\u00a0 Upon renewal, National dues are discounted to $42.00 annually and chapter dues of $6.00 will be added to your monthly National annual dues.\u00a0 The total of $48.00 divided by 12 will be $4.00 a month.<\/p>\n

If you mail your form to the Texas Federation Treasurer at the address on the form, you will receive a rebate of $20.00 from the TX Federation the first time you apply for dues withholding.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0 What will I receive for my Membership?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0<\/strong> Members will receive their NARFE Magazine and the Texas Federation Register.\u00a0 You also get a \u201cdynamo\u201d legislative team at NARFE HQ that stays alert to happenings in Congress that has an impact on federal employees\u2019 and retirees\u2019 benefits.\u00a0 This legislative team lobbies to protect and preserve our earned benefits.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0 Does the statewide chapter ever hold a meeting?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0<\/strong> YES.\u00a0 Every other year a meeting is held at the location of the Texas Federation Conference one day before the conference starts or on a day convenient for all 2365 attendees at the conference.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0 How are officers elected?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0<\/strong> Every other year, officers will be elected by email or US Postal System mail.\u00a0 Request for volunteers for offices will be sent to the membership early in the year (or in late December of the prior year) .\u00a0 From the volunteers , a ballot will be prepared and mailed to each chapter member.\u00a0 All ballots must be received 30 days prior to the TX Conference .\u00a0 The elected officers will be notified and they are encouraged to attend the where the Chapter 2365 meeting will be held and newly elected officers will be officially installed.\u00a0 If elected officers are unable to attend this meeting, other arrangements will be made for installation.<\/p>\n

Q.\u00a0 What if I am already a member of another chapter?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0<\/strong> Members in good standing may transfer to Chapter 2365 by completing a Member Request Transfer (F-84) and mail it to the address on the form.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
