{"id":44,"date":"2024-06-05T13:31:30","date_gmt":"2024-06-05T17:31:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.narfe.org\/chapter1137\/?page_id=44"},"modified":"2025-11-13T15:01:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T20:01:15","slug":"faqs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.narfe.org\/chapter1137\/resources\/faqs\/","title":{"rendered":"FAQs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>What does NARFE do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Association has been protecting and improving the earned benefits of federal employees, retirees and their families. \u00a0NARFE is an advocate for both active and retired federal employees before Congress and the White House.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Who can Join NARFE?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Membership is open to current Federal employees, former employees, retirees, spouses and surviving spouses of those eligible to join NARFE, and former spouses who are legally eligible for a survivor annuity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>How much does NARFE membership cost?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dues for National membership are $48 per year. The two-year dues rate is $92 ($2 savings), and the three-year dues amount is $126 ($6 savings). \u00a0\u00a0Chapter 1137 dues are $6 per year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Do I have to join the Apollo chapter?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">No, chapter membership is voluntary, but we encourage you to join because of the many local benefits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Could anyone become a Federation and\/or Chapter Officer?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Both Federation and Chapter leadership have elected positions based on the members volunteering to run for the office. Anyone interested in becoming an Officer should express their interest to the Federation\/Chapter President.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>What is NARFE-PAC?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">NARFE-PAC \u00a0is our\u00a0<em>Political Action Committee<\/em>.
