I hope you penciled in second Tuesday of the month is our NARFE Chapter 16 meetings. But this time our meeting will start at noon at Round Table Pizza on Springs Road. As your program chair, I would love it if you came prepared to discuss your Federal careers and interests. But if you are a spousal member you can tell us what you did. I firmly believe that the advantage Chapters have over being a National member is the ability to meet other Federal workers fight for saving or improving our benefits. This expands our circle of friends. Gerontologist are finding that as people get age, socialization is one of the more important things that allow us to live longer and thrive. I hope to see you at our meetings.

BTW National is not resting on their laurels after passing that monumental bill that eliminated WEP and GPO for CSRS employees. A new one will be made at our National Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. I would think that Active employees would be interested in Preserving the Merit Based Civil Service, Then Look at all of the issues that can make a difference to you and me. Accurate Cost of Living Adjustments and Threats to Federal Retirement and Health Benefits. I am a life member so I can monitor my Congressional Representatives and write letters as necessary. Our monthly meetings discuss the issues, and National’s website makes it easy to write letters that affect me and other active and retired Federal employees to improve our lives. I know I can do this without NARFE, but there is strength in numbers.

To see the contact information on the newsletters, members logged into NARFE can see the most recent newsletter here.

[2
["post-258","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
["GET
