It is Public Service Recognition Week: Showcase Your Dedication to Public Service!

This year, from May 5-11, we honor Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW), an annual celebration that acknowledges the invaluable service of federal employees and retirees at all levels. During PSRW, we commend all our NARFE members who have dedicated their careers to serving our nation.

Public Service Recognition Week is a time to reflect on the impact that public servants have on the quality of our daily lives, from ensuring safety and security to fostering educational growth and maintaining public resources. It’s a week to appreciate the hard work and dedication of individuals who devote their careers to serving the public good.

Highlight Your Service Through Letters to the Editor

During PSRW, we encourage our members to actively participate by writing Letters to the Editor (LTEs) to their local media outlets. This is an excellent opportunity to highlight your dedication and the critical role public servants play in our society. Writing an LTE not only elevates the visibility of public service but also educates the community on the ongoing commitment of federal employees and retirees.

Why Write an LTE?

Writing an LTE is a powerful way to voice your experiences and influence public perception about policy matters moreover and can be utilized to highlight the importance of public service. It helps to shape the narrative around the value of government work and ensures that our members’ stories are heard and appreciated by a broader audience.
