Resolution Honoring NARFE Centennial Unanimously Passes Senate

Alexandria, Va.—In response to the passage by unanimous consent of a Senate resolution in honor of NARFE’s centennial, NARFE National President Ken Thomas issued the following statement:

“For 100 years, NARFE has been fighting to preserve and enhance the earned pay and benefits of federal employees and retirees, and NARFE’s centennial celebrates that dedication.

“NARFE is grateful to Sens. Ben Cardin, D-MD, and James Lankford, R-OK, for introducing S.Res. 76, recognizing the vital contributions NARFE and its members have made to the United States over the past 100 years. NARFE’s success relies on leaders like Senators Cardin and Lankford, who join us in promoting and defending the important work that federal employees do for this nation.

“On behalf of the 5 million federal employees, retirees and their survivors represented by NARFE, I am honored that the Senate passed the resolution by unanimous consent. The bipartisan spirit on display today on Capitol Hill is a tribute to the federal workforce, which serves our nation and its citizens regardless of political views or affiliation. Our public servants do so day in and day out regardless of who occupies the White House by faithfully discharging their duties pursuant to laws passed by congresses with diverse political views, with primary allegiance to the Constitution of the United States.”
