NARFE urges Congress to ensure competitive compensation for civil servants
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is holding a hearing to discuss a recent Congressional Budget Office report on federal employee compensation in comparison to the private sector. In light of the report, NARFE urged members of the committee to take a measured and thoughtful approach to policies related to federal compensation and believes that the federal government should offer competitive compensation for our nation’s civil servants. House Panel Advances Bill to Combat FEHB Fraud
The FEHB Protection Act, H.R. 7868, was marked up by the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability on April 10, and then subsequently passed the same day. The bill, and its counterpart in the Senate, S.4035, is aimed at combating fraud in the largest employer- sponsored health insurance program in the United States, the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP). The bill would require federal agencies to verify that an employee is eligible to add a family member to their FEHB health coverage plan.
