On October 15, NARFE’s Legislative Director Jessica Klement appeared on CBS Evening News to discuss the lack of a 2016 cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) and its impact on Medicare Part B premiums. Not only will federal retirees not see an increase in their annuities next year, but nearly one million Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) retirees also will be paying 50 percent more than most other seniors in Medicare Part B premiums, due to the “hold harmless provision” of Social Security law.
