Earlier this week, President Obama called on Congress to pass comprehensive health care legislation before the start of the August recess. This legislation is the ideal vehicle in which to attach our premium conversion bills. Because time to mobilize NARFE members before August is relatively short, NARFE President, Margaret L. Baptiste, asks each NARFE member to immediately contact his or her Congressional delegation, one Representative and two Senators.
Your message to your one Representative:
“I ask that you urge House Ways and Means Chairman, Charles Rangel, to include H.R. 1203, Federal and Military Retiree Health Care Equity Act, in comprehensive health care reform legislation the committee is currently considering.”
Your message to your two Senators:
“I ask that you urge Senate Finance Committee Chairman, Max Baucus, to include S. 491, Federal and Military Retiree Health Care Equity Act, in comprehensive health care reform legislation the committee is currently considering.”
NARFE, one of America’s oldest and largest associations, was founded in 1921 with the mission of protecting the earned rights and benefits of America’s active and retired federal workers. The largest federal employee/retiree organization, NARFE represents the interests of nearly five million Federal employees, retirees, spouses, and survivors.
