Welcome to our active and retired chapter members and prospective members!
In addition to our newsletters and meetings, this Chapter 422 Web site is another means of keeping our members informed about what is going on in our chapter, state federation and at the national level. For example, we can keep you informed in a timely manner by posting information and actions on legislative issues and initiatives at the state and national levels that could affect you and your earned benefits.
Even though attendance at meetings is voluntary, the chapter board members learned through surveys that the members who attend meetings are interested in good program topics/speakers and in the social interaction of the group. Our chapter members who attend meetings regularly share their experiences on the topic of the day and we learn from these members as well as the speakers.
Another important benefit to being a chapter member is the opportunity to serve others by fostering the mission of NARFE and volunteering to actively participate as committee chairs and in the governance of the chapter. Speaking of service, one of the most vital roles in the chapter is that of the service officer, who can answer your questions about your health benefits, annuity, survivor benefits, Medicare and Social Security.
